Part of Rethink LA, an exhibit challenging designers, artists, planners, and policy
makers throughout Los Angeles to imagine a city in transition, fifty years in the future.
The project focused on bringing elements of an off-the-grid lifestyle to the
Venice Canals. In the future, as water levels rise and resources become scarce,
canal-dwellers use their environment to conserve and engage locally.
Research was conducted on Lopez Island, in Washington State, through
interviews withresidents already utilizing grey water systems, solar
energy, green building and localized food production and preservation.
